Less is more with this simple, yet elegant sheath qipao. We took the classic cheongsam silhouette and modernized it with delicate floral embroidery, a front slit, and a sheer mesh back. If you’re looking for something modest and classy for your tea ceremony, then look no further.
This dress is named after Grace Lee Boggs, an American author, social activist, philosopher, and feminist. She’s regarded as a key figure in the Asian American movement.
This dress is truly stunning. EMD’s customer service is quick and friendly. I paid for expedited delivery and my dress was slightly delayed- they refunded half of the delivery fee which was much appreciated. Best of all, I love my dress and can’t wait to wear it for our tea ceremony and part of the reception. The material is well made. I did have to get the dress tailored, it was a bit too long and also loose at the bust. Now it’s a perfect fit. Love that it’s made just for me.
I had the amazing opportunity to attend a pop up for East Meets Dress. The ladies there were wonderful and so patient when explaining the differences in each style. They were very quick to respond to emails I sent as well. When the dress came, there were barely any alterations that needed to be made. Thank you for this amazing dress that I will wear proudly during my reception!
Update: I looked fabulous on my wedding!!! I want to THANK YOU so much for making this fabulous dress! I had so much fun dancing in cheongsam. I was doing the Cha Cha Slide! Check me out with my dress on!
Service: very responsive to emails and amazingly professional. Get a professional tailor if you are not sure or get your future partner with some experience to help you. I got my Hubby to help me.
Delivery/shipping: Fast. I got the dress shipped early 8 weeks ($100 extra; totally worth it).
Dress: Grace Bespoke Dress | Modern Wedding Cheongsam
Beautiful dress. I like the design and the pattern. There's no visible seams. The front slit is better.
Last advice: Just want to let everyone know that wedding doesn't need to be expensive to be great and fun. We spend a total of est. $2,500. Our ceremony was at a family backyard with fake flowers garland and Japanese lanterns on metal wires. Save the money for honeymoon, house, or a baby. Those are more worthwhile and reasonably expensive.
We were tired of browsing sketchy sites with no customer support so we started EMD.
Designed by Asian-Americans, for the modern woman.
Welcome to modern day cheongsam shopping.
