East Meets Dress (EMD) is a female-founded, early-stage startup looking to reinvent the cultural wedding dress shopping experience for Asian-Americans.   • Operations Associate (Part Time, Flexible Hours)

    We are seeking an Operations Associate to join our team. You’ll be helping women bring to life their perfect cheongsam for any occasion. It’s a fun, unique and challenging role that brings together design sensibility, customer service and operations.

    This is a part-time, remote opportunity with flexible hours (~20hrs/week).

      How you’ll contribute:
    • •Follow-up with and answer customer questions that come in through various channels (e.g., email, chat, text, social media, etc.)
    • •Communicate with our dressmakers in Chinese regarding customers’ requests and feedback on their dresses
    • •Track and manage customers’ production timeline to ensure on time delivery
    • •Build and innovate on the customer experience and operational processes
    • •Respond to customers’ inquiries within 24 hours, but with flexible hours

    • •Triple-checked an email before you sent it, just because the perfectionist in you demanded it?
    • •Given someone great advice on how to improve an outfit?
    • •Had a lengthy conversation in Mandarin on wechat (with the help of google translate) with a friend or relative?

    • •Successfully improvised a meal based off of a recipe that you didn’t have all of the ingredients to?

    Some additional things you have:
    • •A comfortable proficiency in Mandarin (mostly written) is required
    • •A bachelor’s degree
    • •Some type of customer-facing experience
    • •High proficiency with technology, especially Google Suite (Docs, Sheets), and are quick to learn new tools
    • •Retail or e-commerce experiences are a plus, but not necessary

  • Fulfillment Manager (Part Time, Flexible Hours)

    We are seeking a Fulfillment Manager to join our team. This person will be responsible for fulfilling orders, managing inventory, packaging dresses, and ensuring that they get delivered in time to our customers for their special day. You’ll be working closely with the team to fulfill each order and delight customers. It’s a fun, unique and challenging role that brings together a scrappy startup mentality and operational efficiency.

    This is a part-time opportunity with flexible hours (~20hrs/week).

      How you’ll contribute:
    • •Receive weekly dress shipments and be responsible for unpacking those shipments, updating order trackers, and repackaging each customer order within 1-2 business days.
    • •Quality check each customer’s order to ensure it meets our standards
    • •Ensure delivery of each package to the local USPS.
    • •Track, store, and manage all EMD inventory (including returns/exchanges, sample kits, sample dresses, etc.).
    • •Assist with the packaging and fulfillment of giveaways and partnerships gifts.
    • •Work closely with the co-founders and other team members to manage and deliver all customer orders in time; checking in once a week.
    • •Build and innovate on the packaging and fulfillment operations and processes.
    • •Opportunity to oversee and manage a fulfillment team
    • •Commit to this role for at least 1 year.

    • •A keen eye for detail, good work ethic, and ability to set and meet high standards
    • •Operations experience especially with packaging and fulfillment is a plus.
    • •Some type of customer-facing and/or e-commerce experience is a plus.
    • •Proficiency in Chinese is a plus, but not necessary

    Location and Compensation:
    • •We have a EMD warehouse space in Rosemead, Los Angeles, but can discuss working from home options (where we reimburse you for EMD storage in your home)
