Her wedding ring and diamond tiara alone cost $1.5 million USD and was designed by famed jewelry designer Chaumet. Her wedding guests were treated like royalty as well. Each guest went home with a gift bag filled with expensive goodies, including a new mobile phone.

Coco Lee & Bruce Rockowitz

Crazy Rich Asian Weddings, Chinese Wedding of Coco Lee, Wedding DressWhat better way to tie the knot with one of the top 50 CEOs in the world than an over-the-top glamorous wedding celebration at Hong Kong’s Ritz Carlton? Well, that’s exactly what influential Chinese singer Coco Lee and her husband Bruce Rockowitz did in 2011, dropping over $20 million USD on the enviable event.

Of that $20 million, around $10 million was spent on five-star hotel accommodations and ticket fares for 300 friends and relatives. $3 million was spent on private jets to fly international superstars, including Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez.

Coco Lee wore a beautiful custom Vera Wang wedding gown in a mermaid style with pearl and crystal embroidery for the occasion, which cost her a whopping $33,000 USD and the value of both of their wedding rings is an estimated $3 million USD alone. The couple enjoyed an energetic evening of dining and singing, and they celebrated alongside Bruno Mars and Alicia Keys, who were invited to perform at the wedding.

Although for the average couple, a “Crazy Rich Asians” kind of wedding is not exactly within reach, these weddings, with all their extravagances, are meant to provide inspiration for your big day. Perhaps you can’t book Bruno Mars or commission a 10-foot tall carousel cake — or maybe, you don’t even want to — but scaling down these features can help you decide on what you like and don’t like in terms of wedding decor, dresses, venues, and even food. Of course, East Meets Dress can also help you out with those things, too!
